In 1939 in order to keep morale high among the people of Great Britain during the bombing raid of Axis Powers, a company took it upon themselves to create a positive message on a poster. That message was "Keep Calm and Carry On". Over 2 million posters were produced but only a handful saw the public eyes as most of the product was placed in storage and the ad campaign suffered massive criticism and stocks were used during large paper shortage at the time. In 2000, a copy was discovered in an old book discovered by a book selling company and the poster grew in pop culture with many variations concocted..
